Here comes the Music part of the Planet here…
I belong to a Drum Corps. In case you’re wondering what that is, check this out: What is Drum and Bugle Corps
Nikk says it way better than I could.
Anyhow, Drum Corps people are like family…..no, strike that. Drum Corps People *ARE* family.
How do I mean?
Drum Corps fosters a close relationship with the people you march with. Day-in and day-out sharing the field while learning a show, and then sharing the field of competition in an almost rock concert atmosphere. Ups & Downs, performances and field time. Bus trips all over the country to perform for fans, etc. These people are your closest friends on the planet. (outside of your spouse)
I have no doubt that given the situation, I’d take a bullet for anyone in my corps, and they’d do the same.
LOL! It’s kind of like a gang with talent and no weapons (at least weapons that work).
I love the folks in my drum corps family, and we’re about to embark on one of our best seasons ever. If you’re ever around one of our performances (check the schedule on the CorpsVets page) feel free to come by and say “Hi”. And if you’re in the Atlanta area, and have some marching and/or corps experience, then come on out and join up!
